As the most northwestern point in the contiguous United States, Cape Flattery really is a picturesque spot in all types of weather. The start of the trail is quite leisurely but further along, there are rocks, tree stumps, and some roots to watch out for. The trail is well-maintained by the Makah. Eventually, the boardwalk branches off to multiple overlooks. While driving to Cape Flattery, the weather was sunny and beautiful, showcasing the wonderful blue of the Pacific Ocean. However the entire hike was through cloudy and foggy weather and the Cape was quite cold and windy, which adds to the allure of the area. Tatoosh Island is visible just across the way. There was a lot of beauty in the ruggedness of the land, with the angled rock edges beaten by the loud and crashing waves with seabirds crying out. People noted a nearby seal (or sea lion?) and there have been whale sightings in the area as well.
